WOODLAWN CEMETERY
19975 Woodward Avenue, at the southwest corner of 8 Mile Road
Detroit, Michigan

Woodlawn is a beautiful, elegant cemetary in the middle of Detroit, Michigan. It is filled with many elaborate tombstones and crypts. There are many famous burials in Woodlawn as well, including many Motown artists. But the grave that most humbles me is that of Rosa Parks, the famous woman who wouldn't give up her seat on an Alabama bus. After that incident, she had so many death treats, that she and her husband moved to the motor city, where she is now buried. Modestly, in Section 13, Lot 103, lies a few of my relatives.
